All about low blood pressure
Is your blood pressure too low?
People often ask me if low blood pressure is normal or if a low blood pressure level indicates a problem in the body? But there’s no easy way to answer that. It all really depends on whats normal for you individually.
Some people with low blood pressure readings struggle with symptoms while others feel entirely well.
So can it ever be OK to have low blood pressure numbers? That all depends how your own blood pressure level usually runs.
Heres an example of when its perfectly acceptable to have lower than normal blood pressure readings.
Lets begin by assuming that you’ve always had blood pressure readings near to ninety over fifty – then without question you have a low blood pressure reading but there is nothing wrong with you or with your blood pressure reading. You ought to rejoice that your risk of stroke or heart attack will be much less than many others. You shouldn’t expect to experience any symptoms from your low blood pressure. Putting it simply – your blood pressure is normal for you and nothing more needs done about it. This example is what I call normal low blood pressure and it will not result in any symptoms and should need no specific treatment.
Its really just part of you and how your heart and circulation works.
Now – the opposite scenario – when can low blood pressure numbers be an abnormal finding?
If your blood pressure level is usually around 130 / 80 and without warning it decreases to a level around 90/50 you are certainly going to begin to feel ill related to this change. As you’ve seen above you have low blood pressure but in this instance it’s not normal for you to have readings this low. If you get this then consider seeing your doctor for tests because its quite likely that some other disease or perhaps a medication has caused your blood pressure to drop.
Don’t take chances or risks with your help
Go see a doctor if you are concerned about your blood pressure level.
